Introduction

Bariatric surgery is a long term solution to obesity.  If you are obese, surgery may help you lose weight and keep it off.  But, surgery by itself will not work.  You also need to change what you eat and become more active.  At Surgical Associates, we work in conjunction with the St. Vincent Healthcare Weight Management Clinic to educate and prepare qualifying patients for this life changing decision.

Our surgeons specialize in two types of bariatric surgery:

Sleeve Gastrectomy

A sleeve gastrectomy reduces the size of the stomach by removing a portion of it.

Gastric Bypass

The gastric bypass is the resection and re-routing of the small intestines to a small stomach pouch.
